I started practicing yoga in 2014 in the little hall at Anakie, with my beautiful teacher Colleen Dobson who owned a farm nearby. Yoga became my passion, and when Colleen passed away, I realised that without her introducing me to yoga, I don’t know where I might be right now. Yoga has become my “attitude adjustment”, and I needed this practice every week. And I want to give that to other people who may need it too. As well as creating community within a community, something I learnt is really important not matter where you go and live.
I obtained my Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training Certificate and began teaching classes to my local community in October 2017. I am currently doing my Level 2 Yoga Teacher Training through Yoga NRG, and I am also currently completing my Level 1 & 2 Mindfulness Training so that I can offer other styles of classes to the Emerald and Sapphire communities.
I am driven by the physical and mental benefits I have seen in myself from practicing yoga, both on and off the mat, as well as the profound physical benefits I have seen in others who attend my classes. I love the commitment people show when attending my classes regularly, and I match their commitment with my own - as my teacher once did for me.
I hope to see you on the mat soon!
